Join Shelby Young for a special online guest director workshop focused on building a sustainable career across games, animation, and digital media. Shelby works consistently across AAA games, animation, motion capture, and on-camera, while also maintaining a large online presence rooted in performance. In this session, she shares how strong acting craft, smart career choices, and visibility intersect over time. You’ll explore: •What casting teams respond to in games and animation •How to approach reads with clarity, confidence, and adaptability •How social media fits into a voice actor’s career (and when it doesn’t) •Thinking long-term about longevity, flexibility, and momentum This workshop is about aspiration grounded in reality, learning from someone actively working across formats and platforms. Bio: With an extensive background in voice-over, motion capture, and on-camera, Shelby Young has been an actor all her life. A self-proclaimed nerd with an affinity for cats, theme parks, and sushi, Shelby may be best known for her work in the Star Wars galaxy, giving voice to a plethora of characters across their animation and video game titles, including voicing Princess Leia Organa in multiple LEGO projects. Shelby's also known for her work in AAA game titles such as Persona 3 Reload, Fortnite, Infinity Nikki, God of War: Ragnarök, and Wolfenstein Youngblood, along with animated titles including Nickelodeon’s Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Pixar’s Elio, Dreamworks Animation’s The Bad Guys 2 and Disney Junior's Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures." NOTE: You will receive both a confirmation email right after you register and a reminder email 24 hours before the class. The emails will contain all the information needed to prepare you for class. If you cannot locate your confirmation email, please check your spam folder or promotions tab (gmail) before contacting us! Policies for Online Classes: • All classes are recorded, and links to view or download them are provided to all enrolled students within three days after the class. • If, for any reason, you can not make the date/time of class, you will still be given access to view the entire workshop with the recorded video. Equipment and Attendance: • Professional gear is not required, but students must have a phone, tablet, or computer with reliable access to Zoom, a camera, and audio. • Cameras are mandatory for class and must be turned on for the duration of the beginning portion of class. Once attendance is taken and class has started, cameras may be turned off at the discretion of the instructor. Cancellation Policy: • Payment is only refundable if cancelled at least 72 hours before the event. Funds will be returned to the original form of payment. • If cancellation occurs prior to 48 hours before the start of the event, but less than 72 hours before the event, payment will be nonrefundable, but may be rolled over to another workshop. • For any cancellation occurring less than 48 hours before the start of the workshop, payment will be forfeited.
