Finding the Read: A 4-Week Audition Workout with Barbara Niles Auditioning has changed. More actors than ever are recording from home, often without the benefit of immediate direction from a casting or booth director. Today's voice actors are expected to wear multiple hats, serving as the actor, director, and creative decision-maker all at once. In this four-week online workout, Barbara Niles will help you strengthen one of the most important audition skills: creating multiple, distinct reads that still serve the copy. How often have you submitted a second take only to realize it sounds almost identical to the first? A little faster, a little softer, but not truly different? Through weekly practice and feedback, you'll learn techniques for making stronger choices, approaching copy from different angles, and developing reads that feel intentional, authentic, and varied. The goal isn't to make random adjustments; it's to build the skills and confidence to deliver multiple believable interpretations while staying true to the script. Equally important, this workout is designed to foster a supportive community where actors can experiment, take creative risks, and continue strengthening their audition muscles together. Barbara Niles spent more than 20 years as an agency booth director and continues to direct auditions in today's remote recording landscape. Drawing from decades of industry experience, she'll share practical tools to help you approach every audition with greater confidence, versatility, and creativity.

NOTE: You will receive both a confirmation email right after you register and a reminder email 24 hours before the class. The emails will contain all the information needed to prepare you for class. Be sure to add info@realvoicela.com to your contacts to avoid your emails ending up in a spam, junk, or promotions folder. If you cannot locate your confirmation email, please check your spam folder or promotions tab (gmail) before contacting us! Policies for Online Classes: • All classes are recorded, and links to view or download them are provided to all enrolled students within three days after the class. • If, for any reason, you can not make the date/time of class, you will still be given access to view the entire workshop with the recorded video. Equipment and Attendance: • Professional gear is not required, but students must have a phone, tablet, or computer with reliable access to Zoom, a camera, and audio. • Cameras are mandatory for class and must be turned on for the duration of the beginning portion of class. Once attendance is taken and class has started, cameras may be turned off at the discretion of the instructor. Cancellation Policy: • Payment is only refundable if cancelled at least 72 hours before the event. Funds will be returned to the original form of payment. • If cancellation occurs prior to 48 hours before the start of the event, but less than 72 hours before the event, payment will be nonrefundable, but may be rolled over to another workshop. • For any cancellation occurring less than 48 hours before the start of the workshop, payment will be forfeited.
