About This Class:

Voice actor and coach Arianna Ratner teams up with voice actor and dialect coach Tom Antonellis to break down several challenging-to-access dialects into digestible, easily-understood exercises.

Learn how to find the funny in animation copy and perfect your dialect/accent work in a special three hour interactive lecture. From their differing backgrounds in acting, dialect, and comedy, Arianna and Tom approach the “Intersection of Comedy and Dialects” from different angles to come together to provide you extra tools to apply to your animation and video game work.

About Your Instructors:

Arianna Ratner has voiced countless characters in the Elder Scrolls Online game, can be heard in The World of Warcraft Legion and Battle for Azeroth, Hearthstone, EA's Command and Conquer: Rivals, The Sims 4, State of Decay 2, Final Fantasy, and several other upcoming Blindlight and Blizzard games. She can be heard in the recent Captain Marvel x WNBA trailer, is the voice of KSBW-TV, has done promos for CNN and A&E and campaigns for Dunkin Donuts and more. Fun fact: her voice is immortalized on the Jumpin Jellyfish and Avatar Flight of Passage rides at California Adventures and Disney World.

Growing up, Tom Antonellis was a jack-of-all-arts (illustration, magic, acting, theater, stage design) and since college: stand-up comedy, voiceover (including being a voicematch specialist and dialect coach).  Together with his sister Julee Antonellis, he's co-host of the hilarious and heartfelt "Back Through The Basement" podcast.

As a VO artist, Tom runs a very full gamut: looping, ADR, voicematching, narration, comedy, improv, dubbing, legalese, trailers, yes -- even singing, apps, commercials, narrative podcasts, non-narrative podcasts, animation, radio, TV, film, audiobooks.  Clients and credits include Marvel, Disney, The Boston Celtics, NASCAR of New England, Penguin Random House, Audible, Arthur Murray Dance Studios, TriCalm itch cream, The Tombras Group.

As a Dialect Coach, he teaches:  General American, Bostonian, New England, New York, American Southern (as in KY/TN), Deep South (as in AL/MS), Midwestern (as in MN), Standard British (aka RP), Cockney, Irish, Scottish, French, Italian, TransAtlantic/MidAtlantic.
