About This Workshop:
What is the difference between animation and radio theater? Well for one thing, overlapping dialogue! Number two: there is no picture. So sound is everything! Katie Leigh has been a cast member on Adventures in Odyssey for 31 years. Being on one of the worlds longest running radio dramas, gives her a unique insight into this growing genre of scripted podcasts meets old world acting. In this workshop we will focus on playing multiple roles in one production. We will discuss character separation, what it means to have characters handy, and also microphone technique to help distinguish your characters. The class will work in an ensemble read, emphasizing give and take during a semi live performance setting.
