About This Workshop:

You will learn what the network is looking for when they hire vo talent, how to submit a strong audition and stand out. You'll also discuss the do's/don't of what to do once you book the job and learn about the different genres of promo including, drama, comedy, reality, game shows, kid's programming, news. In addition we'll cover how to market yourself and get an agent.....and read scripts and get direction from J.J.!

About Your Instructor:

J.J. Jurgens is a Senior Writer/Producer for ViacomCBS Promotion & Marketing.

Throughout her career at CBS, she has been in charge of numerous campaigns across the genres of prime time, daytime and kids’ programming. Directing the voice over sessions has always been one of her absolute favorite things about her job and she has had the opportunity to work with some of the top legends in the voiceover world. She also loves discovering new talent and introducing them to the wonderful world of promo.

As a VO artist herself, J.J. brings a unique perspective to her workshops, knowing what it feels like as both the client and the talent behind the mic. Through her coaching, you’ll understand the process from both sides and discover the tools and mentality you need to nail that job!

JJ is also the creator/host of her own show and podcast, TOMGIRL, and is a big adventurer and dog lover.

Class is limited to 12 students. 18 and over. Cameras are mandatory for class intro.

*** This online workshop will be hosted and recorded in Zoom. Everyone will receive a link to download the video of the workshop the following day. If for any reason you can not make the date/ time you will still be able to view the entire workshop with the recorded video. Due to limited seats available, payment is only refundable up to 72 hours before the event. Up to 48 hours before the event payment is nonrefundable, but may be rolled over to another workshop. Any cancellation less than 48 hours before the start time/ date of the workshop, payment will be forfeited.
