About This Workshop:

Leave your inhibitions at the door and prepare to get silly. By using improv and saying “yes and” to your inner child, we’ll find new ways to play with copy. We’ll also discover what kind of weird, gross, strange, and whimsical sounds you can make to unlock a gold mine of potential new characters and creatures.

About Your Instructor:

Amanda Troop is an actor and improvisor, and has been the “weird noises gal” on numerous projects, including giving voice to the Zombie Queen in “Army of the Dead,” speaking an invented Atlantean language for “Zack Snyder’s Justice League,” and using nonverbal utterances to convey the emotions of a coven of witches in Genndy Tartakovsky’s “Primal.” Other credits include: “Underwater,” “Us,” “Love Death and Robots,” “The Death of Superman,” “Batman Unlimited: Animal Instinct,” “Batman Unlimited: Monster Mayhem,” “Rage,” “Rage 2,” “Horizon Zero Dawn,” and “Final Fantasy VII Remake.” Amanda has used improvisation as a vital tool throughout most of her career, including on-camera work on “Bobcat Goldthwait’s Misfits and Monsters,” a 2-year campaign for Chevrolet, and in creating several fully improvised films with her improv and production team, Ripley Improv.

Class is limited to 12 students. 18 and over. Cameras are mandatory for class intro.

*** This online workshop will be hosted and recorded in Zoom. Everyone will receive a link to download the video of the workshop the following day. If for any reason you can not make the date/ time you will still be able to view the entire workshop with the recorded video. Due to limited seats available, payment is only refundable up to 72 hours before the event. Up to 48 hours before the event payment is nonrefundable, but may be rolled over to another workshop. Any cancellation less than 48 hours before the start time/ date of the workshop, payment will be forfeited.
